Teal Needlepoint Rug – Progress 11

Slow and steady does get things done. I’ve finished the new Nose motif row on one side of the rug.

I had originally planned to put the same color teal between these motifs that I’m using for the divider, but it was too dark and the lattice and crosses didn’t show up well. So I ripped it out and did white instead. With white on all sides of the lattice, it really stands out now. The motif is repeated seven times across the row.

I will complete this motif across the other side of the rug and add the divider just above it on both sides before I post about this rug again. Here is the rug today.

Tomorrow will be time to work on the adopted patchwork rug for the first time since I hurt my hand. The first square will be finished as there is little left to do there. Then I’ll work on the borders along the right side of the square before I start on another area. I’ll post about that rug early next week.

  1. This rug is really pretty – the colors are bright and inviting…and your choice of motifs and stitches is perfect.

  2. Perfectly beautiful, and exciting with those colors! It’s good to see you stitching again – I’ve been in withdrawal without it.
