Elephant – Progress 9

I’ll need to scroll this piece in order to continue working on it. So I spent a lot of time this past week doing the backstitching around the head, ears and eyes. Then I worked on the motif on the right side of the elephant – a compass.

The top of the tusks is the middle of the piece, so I’ve reached the halfway mark. The giant chart I’ve been working from only has 2 more inches for me to stitch. Then I can get out the second chart which contains the last 5 inches. So finishing this first chart will be my goal before I show Elephant to you again. There’s more quick background on the right side, the elephant’s trunk and some of the side and legs. On the left I’ll start the last motif on that side. Since the background is half cross stitches, I hope to get the right side done this week and attack the elephant next.
