Baluchi Rug – Progress 2

I’ve worked my way across the bottom of the rug with the Gobelin border and the first border – the zigzag. This was done all in Vineyard silks. Then I switched to Trio and started stitching the dividing lines for the second, larger border.

And here is the way it looks today:

Next I’ll use green and burgundy Trio  silk/wool and golden Vineyard silk to fill in the triangles that have been created. There will be several values of each color to help each little section stand out just a little from the others. I like creating the play of light and dark colors to enhance a design. It will probably be at least a week before you see the rug again. Too much going on right now.
