Delta Queen Paddleboat – Progress 5

This is taking much longer than I had planned, but so many things have been happening.

A front door key was mailed to us from a service we no longer use. The envelope arrived with no key in it (but of course the envelope had our address on it). A quick call to a locksmith got the locks rekeyed the same day.

The garage door decided not to go all the way up  – but enough that we can get the car out. DH checked online and found out how to unlock it. We raised and lowered it by hand, then locked it again. Most of the time it is now going all the way up. We’ll see if that continues.

Had to have a plumber out because the kitchen sink wasn’t draining sometimes – that got fixed along with two loose handles on a sink and the shower. We need a new garbage disposal – he’ll install that next week.

And so on – we didn’t know that the house would have so many problems at just 10 years of age.

But the paddleboat is making progress. The section on the right with the keel in black is completely done – water and all. I’m working on water in the paddle wheel now. There is still a tiny bit of the boat to stitch on the left side as well.

Paddleboat 5

I’m hoping to have this completed this week.

  1. I agree, house oopsies always come in groups. I’ve had problems with my garage door too. It’ll go up a few inches then stop. When I hit the button again, it’ll go down, then all the way up. Now, when my daughter hits the button, it works perfectly both ways. Huh? You’re almost finished with the Delta Queen!

  2. Oh my, so much going on! Hopefully, your house will stay out of trouble for the winter now. Great progress on the boat, though!
